While Godzilla is famous for its smashing skills, that doesn't stop fans the world over from wanting to build the King of the Monsters up. This week LEGO announced that a fan-submitted Godzilla based on Legendary's Monsterverse designs from Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire was approved for consideration for an official set through its community-driven LEGO Ideas program.
Built by Matthew Esposito, the LEGO Ideas Godzilla was originally submitted in 2023, then resubmitted in 2024 after a rules change welcomed larger set ideas. It has since earned 10,000 required community supporters and has officially been approved by LEGO for consideration as a proper set release.
In a video hosted by LEGO Master Model Designer Ellen Bowley and LEGO Ideas Community Strategy and Engagement Manager Travis Barbour, Godzilla was enthusiastically received, with Barbour stating “we cannot wait to translate it into brick form.”
There's not an official product announcement or release date yet, and any final design would be subject to change, but you can check out images from Matthew Esposito's Monsterverse Godzilla LEGO Ideas submission below.
