Godzilla vs. America Collection Brings the King of the Monsters to U.S. Cities this April

IDW Publishing is bringing Godzilla’s all-out U.S. tour together in one place this spring. Arriving April 7, the Godzilla vs. America collection gathers the full four-issue anthology into a single trade paperback, offering a city-by-city showcase of how different creators imagine the King of the Monsters tearing through the United States.
Rather than a single, unified storyline, each chapter of Godzilla vs. America drops the Big G into a different city, with each location shaped by the personal style, humor, and obsessions of its creative team. The result is a book that feels less like a traditional crossover and more like a mixtape of Godzilla chaos, where tone and approach can shift wildly from one story to the next.
According to editors Jake Williams and Nic Niño, that creative freedom was the point. “Godzilla vs America is pure unadulterated fun,” they said in a joint statement. “It’s been a blast reaching out to creators and seeing all the crazy ways they unleash Godzilla onto their own cities. There are writers and artists in this book that you’d never expect to see working on a Godzilla comic, and they’re bringing the king of the monsters to places you’d never expect to see a kaiju. You’re not gonna find anything like this outside of the world of comics.”
The collection spans four distinct locations, each represented by its own creative lineup. Godzilla vs. America: Boston features work by Steve Orlando, Matt Emmons, Hanna Cha, Jesse Lonergan, and Hayden Sherman. Godzilla vs. America: Chicago includes stories by Mike Costa, Ryan Browne, Ezra C. Daniels, Tim Seeley, and Caroline Cash. Godzilla vs. America: Kansas City brings together Buster Moody, Freddie E. Williams II, Kyle Strahm, Baldemar Rivas, and Jake Smith. Rounding out the book is Godzilla vs. America: Los Angeles by Gabriel Hardman, Dave Baker, Jordan Morris, Nicole Goux, and J. Gonzo.
The Los Angeles chapter carries added significance beyond the page. IDW has confirmed that 100 percent of proceeds from Godzilla vs. America: Los Angeles on Final Order Cutoff this weekend will go toward helping bookstores and comic shops impacted by recent LA wildfires, giving fans a direct way to support the local comics community while picking up the book.
One monster, four cities, sixteen stories, and countless ways to flatten a skyline. The full Godzilla vs. America collection hits shelves April 7, just in time to watch Godzilla take America apart, one city at a time.
