North American fans may want to start packing their bags because, just in time for the 70th anniversary year of the King of the Monsters comes Godzilla Festival Osaka.
Open for free to the public, Godzilla Festival Osaka will open at noon local time at Grand Front Osaka, Oumekita Plaza (4-1 Ohfuka-cho, Kita-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture) at noon on April 28. Fans who aren't able to make it in person can also stream the event live on YouTube (on April 27 at 8:00 p.m. PST).
Godzilla Fest Osaka follows the opening of Legendary's Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire Monsterverse movie in Japan on April 26, and will include new Godzilla product announcements, a monster suit meet and greet, a revival screening of the Operation Jet Jaguar short film, and more to be announced.
Previously held last November in Tokyo with more than 30,000 fans in attendance, Godzilla Fest Osaka is the ninth Godzilla Festival event and the first ever to take place in the Kansai region, which is considered one of the historic hearts of Japan.
