Godzilla’s Next Challenger Will Be Chosen in the New Monster Election

A new monster is preparing to enter Godzilla history, and fans will decide which creature earns the opportunity!

The New Monster Election will introduce eight original monster candidates designed by SHIROGUMI to join the distinctive creatures that have challenged or fought alongside Godzilla over the decades. Public voting begins September 16, with the winner scheduled to face the King of the Monsters in a new Fest Godzilla film from 2027 onwards. The winning monster will also receive merchandise and appear in other planned developments.

The official website is now open with silhouettes teasing all eight competitors. Their complete designs, backgrounds, and other details will be unveiled when the first round gets underway.

Voting will take place across two phases. The opening round runs from September 16 through October 4, narrowing the original eight candidates to four finalists. Results from this stage are expected to be revealed during a YouTube livestream in mid-October.

The second phase begins the day after the midterm results are announced and continues through October 25. Fans can cast one ballot per day throughout both rounds. The champion will be revealed at Godzilla Fest 2026 on November 3 in Tokyo, Japan.
