CinemaCon® 2026 to Feature First Look at Godzilla Minus Zero With Director Takashi Yamazaki

CinemaCon®, the annual convention for the global motion picture theater industry, has announced that GKIDS will present a first look at the upcoming film Godzilla Minus Zero during the event’s studio presentations on April 14, 2026. The presentation will take place on the main stage at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.

CinemaCon is a trade convention organized by Cinema United and attended by theater owners, distributors, and other industry professionals from around the world. This event is not open to the general public, and the presentations are intended exclusively for members of the film exhibition business.

GKIDS will open the morning “State of the Industry” session with exclusive preview footage from Godzilla Minus Zero. Director Takashi Yamazaki, who won the Academy Award® for Best Visual Effects for Godzilla Minus One, is scheduled to appear on the CinemaCon main stage for the first time to personally introduce the footage and discuss the highly anticipated new film in the Godzilla series.

While story details for Godzilla Minus Zero remain under wraps, the film marks Takashi Yamazaki’s return to the series as director, screenwriter, and visual effects supervisor. Production is currently underway with TOHO Studios and ROBOT producing, and visual effects handled by SHIROGUMI Inc.

TOHO plans to release Godzilla Minus Zero theatrically in Japan on November 3, 2026. GKIDS will follow with a wide theatrical rollout across North America beginning November 6, 2026.
