On Godzilla Day, November 3rd, 2025, fans all over the world celebrated the debut of the King of the Monsters, who first made a cinematic splash in 1954. In Los Angeles, the celebrations reached a fever pitch as Brain Dead Studios hosted an epic Godzilla Movie Marathon that turned Fairfax Avenue into kaiju central for an entire day.
The event ran from morning till late night, offering a curated lineup of classic and modern favorites. Attendees filled the theater for Ghidorah, the Three-Headed Monster (1964) in Japanese with subtitles, followed by Terror of Mechagodzilla (1975), which brought the thrills of Showa era spectacle to the big screen. The pace only intensified in the afternoon with the fan-favorite Heisei installment Godzilla vs. Biollante (1989), while the evening crowd thrilled to a dubbed screening of Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah: Giant Monsters All-Out Attack (2001), one of the boldest entries of the Millennium era.

To mark the occasion, Brain Dead stocked the lobby with merch from the new Brain Dead x Godzilla collaboration, offering apparel and accessories themed to classic kaiju designs. Fans also lined up to try the newly launched Godzilla x Pabst Blue Ribbon beer. PBR sweetened the deal with one dollar pours throughout the event, keeping the festive spirit alive as screenings rolled on.

Adding to the festival atmosphere was a Vintage Books, Toys, and Collectibles Fair, where vendors displayed everything from mid-century sofubi to rare soundtrack LPs. Attendees could pick up a stamp card and earn a stamp for every movie watched. Those who stayed for the full marathon were entered into a special raffle that closed out the night.

The raffle prizes drew gasps from collectors and casual fans alike. Items included a Brain Dead X Godzilla Marusan Hedorah vinyl figure, a Brain Dead X Godzilla Sarujirushi Wacky Monster Racing Set, and a Godzilla 1954 Sofubi sculpted by Masami Yamada. Cheers erupted when the winners were announced, ending the day on a high note worthy of the Big G.

Brain Dead’s marathon proved to be one of Los Angeles’s standout Godzilla Day celebrations, blending cinephile energy, community spirit, and kaiju culture into a single package worth roaring about.
