Chibi Godzilla Raids Again Got a Wild Idol Anime Makeover for April Fools’ Day

Chibi Godzilla Raids Again is a short-form animated comedy series that reimagines the King of the Monsters and other famous kaiju as cute, tiny mischief-makers. For April Fools’ Day in Japan, the show’s official account on X rolled out a playful gag that reimagined the anime as Toki☆Meki! Chibi Godzilla Prince♪, a sparkly youth idol story filled with drama, ambition, and tiny kaiju charm. In this joke version, Chibi Mechagodzilla became an aspiring idol who crossed paths with Chibi Godzilla and set off on a push toward stardom in a show business world packed with rivalries, intrigue, and over-the-top emotions.

The April Fools’ Day stunt also included a mock manga adaptation, complete with cover art, preview pages, and a flustered in-character comment from the fictional creator behind it (who looks a lot like Chibi Mothra). It was a funny and self-aware spin on a series usually known for adorable monster chaos rather than idol industry melodrama.

For viewers outside Japan, the timing also worked nicely.
