Godzilla Towers Over Hollywood in Epic Drone Show for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2

On February 20, Los Angeles looked up in disbelief as Godzilla and other Titans burst into the night sky. To promote the upcoming second season of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, Apple staged an ambitious drone show over Hollywood Forever Cemetery, transforming one of the city’s most iconic landmarks into a Monsterverse battleground. This was not your standard drone spectacle. This was Godzilla, Kong, and Titan X at up to 600 feet tall, hovering over Hollywood as if they had stepped straight out of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters and into real life.

Organizers described it as unlike any drone show ever produced in the U.S., with fully three-dimensional Titan formations engineered to read as physical monsters from every vantage point. Thanks to an FAA-permitted height ceiling at the location, the formations climbed higher than typical drone displays, reaching nearly 600 feet and reportedly visible from more than three miles away. The goal was simple and effective: place Godzilla and the Titans directly into the city skyline.

The countdown began a night earlier. On February 19, Monarch logos and mysterious text formations appeared in the sky, teasing that something massive was coming. Photos and videos quickly circulated online, building anticipation before the full spectacle began.

The February 20 drone show, themed around events and characters from the upcoming Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season 2, unfolded in five acts. Act 1 featured Titan X alongside Apple branding. Act 2 spotlighted Godzilla over Hollywood, followed by Act 3 with Kong taking to the skyline. Act 4 staged a confrontation between Titan X and Kong. The finale brought the Monarch and Apple logos into the sky along with streaming information for Season 2 of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters.

For a series built around giant monsters towering over cities, this was exactly the kind of stunt fans love to see. Apple planted 600-foot Titans right into the LA skyline and let the scale do the talking. For one night in Hollywood, it felt like a genuine encounter with Godzilla and the Titans unfolding in the skies overhead.
