Godzilla Returns in New Monarch: Legacy of Monsters Season Two Trailer

A new trailer for Monarch: Legacy of Monsters has been released ahead of the series’ second season. The 10-episode season premieres globally on Friday, February 27, 2026, beginning with a single episode and followed by weekly releases every Friday through May 1. Godzilla is among the returning Titans this season, as the series continues to expand the television side of the Monsterverse.

Season Two of Monarch: Legacy of Monsters reunites the core ensemble cast led by Kurt Russell and Wyatt Russell, who again portray the older and younger versions of Army officer Lee Shaw. They are joined by returning cast members Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Joe Tippett, and Anders Holm, continuing the multi-generational storyline introduced in the first season.

The new season picks up with the fate of Monarch, and the world itself, hanging in the balance. The story moves to Skull Island as long-buried secrets resurface, drawing both allies and adversaries back together. As past events begin to ripple into the present, relationships between family members, friends, and rivals are tested under the growing threat of another Titan-scale event. In addition to the return of Godzilla and Kong, Season Two introduces a new Titan known as Titan X, an ancient and mysterious presence emerging from the sea. New Season Two guest cast members include Takehiro Hira, Amber Midthunder, Curtiss Cook, Cliff Curtis, Dominique Tipper, and Camilo Jiménez Varón.

Apple TV also confirmed that Monarch: Legacy of Monsters is part of a larger plan for the Monsterverse. Additional series are in development, beginning with an untitled Young Lee Shaw prequel that will see Wyatt Russell reprise his role as Colonel Shaw while also serving as an executive producer.
