Godzilla’s dorsal fins are surfacing in an unexpected place: the hot pot at your dinner table in Japan! Restaurant chain Syabuyo has launched its first-ever movie collaboration, pairing Godzilla Minus Zero with black garlic broth, specially shaped dumplings and collectible cork coasters.
Running from October 22 through mid-November 2026 at Syabuyo locations across Japan, the promotion accompanies the theatrical release of Godzilla Minus Zero.
For newcomers, Syabuyo specializes in all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu, a meal built around cooking thinly sliced meat and vegetables in simmering broth at the table. Diners choose a course that determines the available meat selection, then put together a meal with buffet ingredients, sauces and sides.
The Godzilla Minus Zero collaboration adds a new look to the familiar setup. “Black Chige Broth of Despair” combines spicy Korean-style red miso hot pot broth with black garlic oil. Drop in the Godzilla Dorsal Fin Dumplings, and the surface starts to resemble a scene of a familiar-looking monster swimming through the sea.
There are also Godzilla-Inspired Jet-Black Cheese Dumplings, with chewy wrappers surrounding a melting cheese filling. These can go into the pot or become part of a more elaborate creation using the restaurant’s buffet selection.
Godzilla Footprint Curry brings together rice, vegetable curry and the cheese dumplings, with ground chili pepper arranged into a kaiju footprint.
Spicy Mixed Noodles of Despair pairs noodles cooked in the black broth with pork belly, wood ear mushrooms and lotus root, finished with chili oil and spicy bean paste mayonnaise.
Dessert takes a colorful approach. The Godzilla Tail Parfait uses blue jelly as an ocean beneath a rising swirl of soft serve, with cocoa powder and cocoa biscuits adding a dark finish. Coffee jelly, cornflakes, whipped cream and strawberry sauce complete the layers. These are suggested do-it-yourself arrangements, so assembling them is part of the experience.
Each eligible diner also receives one randomly selected cork coaster from five designs inspired by Godzilla Minus Zero, while supplies last.
