Godzilla joins X Plus’s Yuji Sakai Modeling Collection, a series of soft-vinyl figures sculpted and produced by renowned kaiju artist Yuji Sakai. This release comes as a fully painted, finished soft-vinyl figure, created using the same mold as the garage kit originally released by Yuji Sakai Sculpture Studio in 2004.
Godzilla is captured in his iconic roaring pose, gazing upward toward Mothra—an homage to their fierce battle that unfolded in downtown Tokyo. Every detail of the King of the Monsters has been carefully recreated, from the distinctive curve of his neck and razor-sharp dorsal fins to the chest scar he sustained in Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla, giving the impression that Godzilla has stepped directly out of the film.
Sakai’s sculpt carries an overwhelming sense of presence. As with previous entries in the series, the original cast prototype was converted into wax to create a master mold. The final soft-vinyl figure is produced exclusively from that master mold, minimizing wear during manufacturing and preserving the sculpt’s sharp details as faithfully as possible.
