New Takashi Yamazaki-Directed 'Godzilla The Ride' Coming This Summer

A new Godzilla ride attraction from the award-winning Godzilla Minus One director Takashi Yamazaki arrives this summer.

Fans won't have to wait much longer for more Godzilla action from Takashi Yamazaki. Not only is he working on a new Godzilla feature film, the director and Academy Award®–winner of Best Visual Effects for Godzilla Minus One is writing, directing and producing the VFX for a brand‑new Godzilla ride attraction for summer 2025.

This project marks Takashi Yamazaki’s second work on a ride attraction following “Godzilla the Ride: Giant Monsters Ultimate Battle,” which is currently showing at Japan's Seibuen Amusement Park. Among the original ride's satisfied customers is Godzilla Minus One star Ryunosuke Kamiki, who shared with Godzilla.com that he owns multiple figures based on Yamazaki's monster designs for the ride.

"I’m thrilled to return to Godzilla’s world from the passenger seat”, wrote Yamazaki in an official press release. “What powerful foes will emerge? Where will this ride take us next? As a ride enthusiast myself, I can’t wait for my first spin—and I’m working day and night with our team to make this the most terrifying ride in the world."

The ride's scope and scale is planned to surpass its predecessor, with multiple locations intended for leading theme parks and entertainment centers utilizing Taiwan’s Brogent Technologies, Inc.'s iRide system.

More details are forthcoming, including the ride's full name, included monsters, and more.
