One of Tokyo’s most famous kaiju landmarks has gotten a dramatic new addition. Hotel Gracery Shinjuku has renewed its 8th-floor lobby diorama for 2026, unveiling a large-scale display inspired by the 2004 film Godzilla Final Wars. The exhibition runs from February 1 through June 30, transforming the hotel entrance into a cinematic monster standoff.
The diorama places Godzilla in a tense confrontation with Hedorah and Ebirah under deep blue lighting designed to evoke the ocean’s depths. Cool, aquatic tones wash over the scene, giving the impression that the battle is unfolding beneath shifting waves of water and light.

The result is one of the hotel’s most immersive lobby presentations yet. Guests arriving at the hotel are met immediately by the glow of kaiju eyes and layered lighting effects that feel closer to a theme park attraction than a static display.
This marks the eighth consecutive themed kaiju diorama exhibition at Hotel Gracery Shinjuku, which has continued rotating large-scale Godzilla displays since 2023. A second 2026 installation is scheduled to run from late June through December, ensuring that the lobby remains an evolving showcase for monster fans throughout the year.

Now in its 11th year, Hotel Gracery Shinjuku fully embraces its identity as a kaiju destination. The landmark is home to the nearly life-size 12-meter “Godzilla Head” that towers over the district skyline, a defining feature that makes the building one of the most photographed pop culture sites in Tokyo.

With its newly refreshed diorama, Hotel Gracery Shinjuku once again proves that in this corner of Tokyo, Godzilla never really checks out.
