Get the Godzilla: The Original Marvel Years Omnibus October, 2024.
The first western Godzilla comic book is coming back in a big way next year as Godzilla, King of the Monsters gets collected in full-color for the first time ever in the new Godzilla: The Original Marvel Years Omnibus in October, 2024.
Written by Moon Knight co-creator and longtime Master of Kung Fu scribe Doug Moench and illustrated by seminal Incredible Hulk and Iron Man artist Herb Trimpe, Godzilla, King of the Monsters ran for 24 issues from 1977 to 1979. The stories also included the contributions of Jim Mooney, Tom Sutton, and other creators.
Godzilla, King of the Monsters was last collected in black and white in 2006, cementing this omnibus as a green Godzilla comic book revival almost two decades in the making.
Not only did the Godzilla, King of the Monsters tell imaginative original stories featuring a distinctly green Godzilla fighting in colossal battles, it stands as an iconic run in comic book history for inserting Toho's iconic kaiju directly into Marvel's core continuity.
From Marvel's official press release:
Godzilla rises from the depths in the United States — and the Marvel Universe! See the towering scourge of Tokyo march across America and battle some of the best and brightest the House of Ideas had to offer, including the Fantastic Four, the Avengers, the Champions, Nick Fury and the mechanized monster fighter, Red Ronin! Godzilla goes west, travels through time to battle Devil Dinosaur, and hosts one of Spider-Man’s most gratuitous guest-shots ever — but when Godzilla is shrunk down to miniature size, the terrible titan proves it can still be a tiny terror! Plus: Aliens, mutants, mad scientists and epic kaiju clashes with Godzilla’s fellow towering titans — including Batragon and Yetrigar!
Godzilla: The Original Marvel Years Omnibus will feature three different covers, including a standard cover by Junggeun Yoon and two Direct Market Exclusive Variant Covers with Trimpe's original art.
