Is Your Godzilla Collection Stop-Motion Ready? New Short Celebrates 71 Years of the King of the Monsters
03/09/2026
Godzilla has teamed up with stop-motion animation artist Cressa Maeve Áine for a fun new short celebrating 71 years of the King of the Monsters!
Created using commercially available Godzilla toys and figures, some of which are available at Godzilla Store US, the film delivers a fast, funny run through Godzilla’s long movie career. Titled Is Your Godzilla Collection Stop-Motion Ready?, the short works for viewers of any age or background, but longtime kaiju fans will catch plenty of specific references and visual gags along the way.
The video opens in black and white with a clear nod to the original Godzilla from 1954, then bursts into color for a tour of the 1960s. Moments inspired by Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964), Invasion of Astro-Monster (1965), and Destroy All Monsters (1968) flash by, with appearances from Mothra, King Ghidorah, and other familiar kaiju.
From there, the action moves into the 1970s as Hedorah, Mechagodzilla, and Jet Jaguar enter the mix. A sequence referencing Godzilla vs. Biollante (1989) signals the jump into later eras, with the short continuing through more recent chapters of the franchise including Godzilla Final Wars (2004), Shin Godzilla (2016), and Godzilla Minus One (2023).
We won’t spoil the ending, but Is Your Godzilla Collection Stop-Motion Ready? leaves you smiling and maybe even looking at your own collection of figures a little differently. The short is a reminder that the King of the Monsters continues to spark creativity, whether on a movie set or on a tabletop at home.
Feeling ready to try your own stop-motion adventure? You can find a wide selection of Godzilla figures and collectibles at Godzilla Store US to help bring your own kaiju scenes to life.
