Godzilla Brings Chocolate, Kaiju, and Collectibles to Valentine’s Day
02/10/2026
Valentine’s Day in Japan has a long history of blending romance with pop culture, and this year Godzilla is joining the celebration in a big way. Arriving just in time for February 14, the limited-edition Godzilla Valentine’s Day Cake with Figure turns the King of the Monsters into an unexpectedly charming Valentine’s centerpiece.
Inspired by a classic scene of destruction in Godzilla Minus One, the cake recreates Tokyo’s iconic Nichigeki movie theater as an edible display, complete with architectural detailing and a dramatic topper: a chocolate-colored Godzilla figure posed in classic fashion.
This is not just a cake you eat and forget. Fans are encouraged to finish off the presentation by decorating the cake with cocoa cookie crunch and placing Godzilla on top using the included food-safe display plate. Once dessert is done, the specially designed cake collar, printed with film imagery, is meant to be kept and displayed alongside the figure.
Flavor-wise, a white cake base is layered with cocoa sponge, fresh cream, and strawberries, then topped with crunchy cocoa cookie bits inspired by traditional roof tiles. A Valentine’s-exclusive Godzilla message card completes the package, making this one of the most thoughtfully themed Godzilla food items to date.
At a cost of 7,680 Japanese yen (about $50.18 USD), only 300 of these cakes are being prepared, with orders closing on February 5 and delivery scheduled for February 13 or 14. The figure itself uses the same sculpt as DeAgostini’s Toho Kaiju Collection, making it a legitimate collectible that just happens to arrive with a yummy dessert.
While the Godzilla Valentine’s cake itself is only available in Japan, fans still have a few fun ways to join the celebration with items available now through Godzilla Store US. Leading the lineup is the Super Duper Plush Godzilla ’89 (Pink), a Valentine-ready take on the King of the Monsters inspired by Godzilla vs. Biollante, reimagined as an 8-inch bundle of ultra-soft, squishy Mochi Minky cuteness. It is joined by Super Duper Plush Mothra ’64 (Pink), based on Mothra vs. Godzilla, which turns Infant Island’s devoted guardian into a pastel cuddle companion with embroidered and felt details. Rounding things out is the Super Duper Plush Hedorah (Pink), which puts a sweet Valentine’s spin on the Smog Monster from Godzilla vs. Hedorah, transforming kaiju chaos into soft, collectible-friendly charm.
Rounding things out are Valentine’s-themed Godzilla e-gift cards with classic kaiju images and playful titles like “Our Love Is Out of This World” and “You’re My Ride or Die,” perfect for last-minute gifting when you want to keep things fun, monster-sized, and unmistakably Godzilla.
