Academy Museum of Motion Pictures Announces Godzilla-Thon! Movie Marathon & More

Get ready for Godzilla-Thon! On Sunday, November 3, the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures will celebrate the King of the Monsters' 70th anniversary with a five-film movie marathon, Godzilla suit fabricator Meet and Greet, and Godzilla Workshop fit for any fans' Godzilla Day celebration.

Godzilla-Thon! marks the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures' first-ever all-day marathon since its opening in 2021 Held at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures' David Geffen Theater located at 6067 Wilshire Blvd in Los Angeles, Godzilla-Thon! will run from approximately 11 a.m. to 9:35 p.m. PT and include the following films:

• 11:00 a.m.: Gojira (1954) in 35mm
• 1:00 p.m.: Destroy All Monsters (1968)
• 2:45 p.m. Godzilla vs. the Smog Monster (Godzilla vs. Hedorah) (1971)
• 5:15 p.m. Shin Godzilla (2016)
• 7:30 p.m. Godzilla Minus One (2023)

The Godzilla Meet and Greet runs from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Sidney Poitier Grand Lobby, where fans can meet Godzilla suit fabricator Krystopher Baioa in his fusion Godzilla suit, inspired by a combination of Godzilla designs through the eras.

The Godzilla Workshop is scheduled from 12:30 to 4:40 p.m. in the Shirley Temple Education Studio in LL1, and will teach attendees how to create stop-motion animation using Godzilla figures and LEGO. What's more, attendees will be able to participate in building (and possibly smashing) a large Godzilla piñata to celebrate Godzilla's birthday.

Godzilla-Thon! movie tickets are on sale now at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures website at $20 for members and $25 for non-members. Godzilla Workshop tickets range from $0 for children, $15 for students, $19 for seniors, to $25 for general attendees.
