The promo pictures don't display the back of these hats, but I can assure you that they are a plastic buckle. The fabric feels nice and the hat(s) fit(s) perfectly on my head.
The embroidering for the G-Force looks and feels well made, we'll see how long it holds up as I plan on wearing this and my other hat to rock my love for Godzilla. One other thing about the embroidered logo is that the hilt of the sword is a mint/emerald green color, which is barely visible in the promo shots; it's a non-issue for me, I love green but just a heads up for future buyers!
