Godzilla officially entered the world of Formula One in Tokyo this week as TGR Haas F1 Team unveiled its Japan Grand Prix special-livery machine at Tokyo Midtown Hibiya. The launch event, held in Japan on March 24, marked the opening of an epic TGR Haas F1 Team x Godzilla collaboration tied to the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship.

The launch event unfolded with all the drama of a Godzilla movie. After an introduction by F1 commentator Katsuhiro Shirahata, the guest lineup took the stage. First was Ayao Komatsu, Team Principal of TGR Haas F1 Team, followed by team drivers Esteban Ocon and Oliver Bearman, and then Keiji Ota, Senior Executive Officer and Chief Godzilla Officer at TOHO Co., Ltd. Ocon and Bearman then stepped forward for the unveiling, pulling away the cover from the car and giving the assembled media their first public look at the Godzilla special livery. Afterwards, the guests took time for photos and autographs with the enthusiastic crowd, while a Godzilla 2000: Millennium-era suit watched over the proceedings from the stage with apparent satisfaction.

Following the unveiling, Haas veteran driver Esteban Ocon told the media, “This collaboration with Japan-born GODZILLA has made the car incredibly cool. At first, I couldn’t quite tell with the black and red colors, but when I got closer, I saw GODZILLA—and it was truly powerful. I can’t wait for the fans to see this car on track.” Oliver Bearman also said, “With the spirit of GODZILLA infused into the F1 car, it has become an incredibly cool machine. I’m really looking forward to driving it and delivering a strong performance at the Japanese Grand Prix.” In response, Keiji Ota said, “TGR Haas is currently in great form, sitting fourth in the standings. I hope they unleash that power together with GODZILLA!” as he cheered the team on ahead of the approaching Japanese Grand Prix.
What makes the Godzilla x TGR Haas F1 Team rollout especially exciting is that it is the first collaboration with an entertainment IP in the team’s history. Rather than limiting the campaign to a one-time livery reveal, the 2026 collaboration between Godzilla and TGR Haas F1 Team is being developed as an international event that will include digital content, limited-edition merchandise, special visuals, and fan-focused activities across the season. Apparel from Godzilla x TGR Haas F1 collection is available now for preorder at the Godzilla Store.

The Godzilla x TGR Haas F1 Team collaboration is also set to continue at the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas, from October 23 through 25. This appearance will bring the collaboration to fans shortly before the American theatrical release of Godzilla Minus Zero on November 6, extending the season-long campaign beyond Japan and into the U.S.A.

With its world premiere now complete in Tokyo and a U.S. debut planned for Austin, the TGR Haas F1 Team x Godzilla collaboration is already taking shape as a global event worthy of the King of the Monsters.
