The "Toho SFX MOVIES AUTHENTIC VISUAL BOOK" series focuses on a single character—primarily one monster—from a specific work, compiling it into a dedicated volume. Featuring large, detailed images, this book allows readers to appreciate the texture, intricacy, and subtle design details of the character. Written descriptions are kept to a minimum, emphasizing a purely visual experience.

Mothra debuted in her own film, Mothra (1961) and quickly became one of the most popular kaiju figures Toho Studios ever introduced. Considered a savior of both Humanity and the Earth itself, her colorful beauty, and peaceful nature made her unique in the world of the giant monster film. Mothra's original personality and design from 1961 were carefully reproduced for her return in Mothra vs. Godzilla (1964). We hope you enjoy these pictures that were taken during the production of that film.

Mothra's just an awesome lady and a regal queen.

I love all the books in the “TOHO SFX MOVIES AUTHENTIC VISUAL BOOK” series. Vol.29 which features Mothra as she appeared in 1964's "Mothra vs. Godzilla" is, IMHO, one of the best. The book offers a cornucopia of behind the scenes, and promotional, images of Mothra and Godzilla during their two battles. Although filmed in color, all pictures in this book are in black and white. While I thoroughly enjoyed this book, one picture in color of Mothra basking in the Sacred Springs would have been appreciated. This book is highly recommended for all fans of The Queen of the Monsters.
